Quotes don't solve problems
It’s not uncommon for business owners to contact me requesting a quote for a website, new logo, brochure or some other such graphic design product. My answer’s almost always the same:
“Do you have time to have a chat so I can find out more about your project?”
Just like when you visit a doctor, it’s important to understand the root cause before recommending a solution. What’s the real purpose behind the product you’re asking for, and who is it meant to help? During these conversations, it's often clear that these questions don’t have clear answers, which leads to uncovering that these requests are just a band-aid for bigger problems.
- “We need a new logo.” ends up being “We aren’t being noticed.”
A logo refresh is great, but if no one sees your business, branding alone won’t fix that.
- “We need a website.” becomes “People don’t know who we are and what we do.”
A website is useful, but without a strategy to help drive traffic, it’s just a digital brochure no one visits.
- “We need a poster.” turns out to be “No one is coming to our event.”
A poster is one way to advertise, but does your audience even look at posters? Maybe they respond better to digital advertising or direct outreach.
- “We need social media graphics.” means “People aren’t engaging with our posts.”
Good design helps, but engagement comes from content that resonates with your audience.
The focus is on solving these real problems so you get a solution that works, not just a quick fix. We do this through a partnership to build a path that’s customized to your needs. Think of it like a “choose your own adventure,” where the first chapter is creating a clear roadmap to guide your success.
If you’re ready to go beyond just “ordering” a design and actually create a plan that gets results, let’s connect.
