About The Client

As part of the Camrose & District FCSS, Older Adult Services provides a range of programs, services, and initiatives for individuals 55 and older. With Camrose’s large older adult population, these services are highly utilized and play a key role in the community.

In early 2024, an external organization made the decision to dissolve and transfer its services to FCSS. This move was made to streamline and enhance the delivery of services to older adults in the community.

The Challenges

One of the challenges was that the restructuring and relocation of services had already started before I came on board. As part of the process, it was important to address some of the perception issues and ensure the community understood the changes.

With the adjustments to programs and the new location, clear and thoughtful communication was needed to ensure a smooth transition and continued engagement with the services.

The Solution

Ensure that all marketing materials about the programs clearly focused on what users needed to know, while presenting the information in an accessible way, was key to the approach. This strategy made it easier for the community to understand the changes and continue engaging with the services, supporting a smoother transition and a more positive perception.

The Results

Many of the programs have seen increased success, and there are now distinct channels for regularly reaching seniors with relevant information. Additionally, more information is now readily available online through the website, making it easier for the community to access the resources they need, rather than always having to call.

Nice words from my partners

Avril spends so much time with each department and staff members, asking questions to gain an in-depth comprehensive understanding of what we do, and getting to the "why" of each service/program.  I feel like she could easily be an employee rather than a consultant because she knows the nuances of our whole organization.
